New album, Mélange: New Music for Trumpet
and Piano, is coming soon
Dean McNeill's latest recording project, Mélange:
New Music for Trumpet and Piano, features Jon Ballantyne (Jazz
Piano), Bonnie Nicholson (Classical Piano), and Dean playing Trumpets
and Flugel Horn.
Jon Ballantyne is a Canadian born jazz pianist
who has won two Juno awards (the most recent Juno coming in 2007).
Bonnie Nicholson is a much sought after accompanist and has performed
as a guest artist with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra.

CD Release for Mélange: New Music
for Trumpet and Piano

The CD release for Dean McNeill's latest recording project will
be at the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon from 3:00 pm to 6:00
pm. Dean will perform some music from the album with Jon Ballantyne
(Jazz Piano), and Bonnie Nicholson (Classical Piano).
Songs were recorded at the University of Saskatchewan's
Convocation Hall, Saskatoon, SK, Canada. Sound Engineer: Wayne
Geisbrecht, Piano Technician: Roger Jolly, Producer: Dean McNeill.
Instruments: Trumpets: Yamaha Xeno Bb (YTR 8335RG),
Xeno C (YTR 8445G), Ed/D (YTR 9610), Flugel Horn (YFH 6310Z),
Piano: Bösendorfer 270, 9' 2" Concert Grand.
